A Brand Ambassador’s job is to show a brand in a positive light to help increase brand awareness and generate new sales opportunities.   • Cultivate leads for sales and marketing

They also strategize and execute digital marketing campaigns and gather and analyze the data results from those campaigns.

Creative Marketing Job Titles

You might be tempted to use creative marketing job titles for your team. Here are some creative marketing titles we’ve seen on the Web:

  • Conversion Optimization Wrangler (MathWorks used this for a Marketing Analyst job)
  • Director of Storytelling (Blue Cross Blue Shield used this for a copywriter/marketing director-type position).
  • Rockstar Copywriter (Workhoppers used this for a copywriter/social media manager)

  • Direct Mail Demi-God (Direct Mail Account Manager

Many employees would love to have such creative marketing position titles.

But just know that you’ll get very few candidates searching job postings for such creative marketing titles.

My advice: Save your creative marketing titles for business cards (not job postings).

4 Types of Marketers

[Update, Feb. 25, 2020] — I wanted to add one more interesting take on marketing jobs. It’s from Viviana Faga, former marketing leader at Zenefits, Microsoft, Yammer and Salesforce. She told Christopher Lochhead on Follow Your Different that she sees 4 different types of marketers:

  1. Corporate Marketing (overall messaging, positioning)
  2. Product Marketing (marketing the product to customers)
  3. Brand and Creative (the brand story and creative
  4. Performance Marketing (demand generation)

I might riff on Viviana’s thoughts in this or another post but I wanted to capture it here because grouping things (like marketing types) into 3 or 4 categories is often useful for mastery of the subject.
