Overview of Experience Manager Assets Brand Portal (2022)

As a marketer, you sometimes need to collaborate with channel partners and internal business users to quickly create, manage, and deliver relevant digital content to customers. Timely delivery of relevant content across the entire customer journey is critical to driving greater demand, conversion, engagement, and customer loyalty.

However, it is a challenge to develop solutions that support efficient and secure sharing of approved brand logos, guidelines, campaign assets, or product shots with extended internal teams, partners, and resellers.

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets Brand Portal focuses on the marketer’s need to effectively collaborate with the globally distributed Brand Portal users by providing asset distribution and asset contribution capabilities.

Asset distribution allows you to easily acquire, control, and securely distribute approved creative assets to external parties and internal business users across devices. Whereas, Asset contribution enables the Brand Portal users with the ability to upload assets to Brand Portal and publish to Experience Manager Assets, without needing access to the author environment. The contribution feature is called as Assets Sourcing in Brand Portal. And together, it improves the overall Brand Portal experience of asset distribution and contribution from the Brand Portal users (external agencies/teams), accelerates the time-to-market for assets, and reduces the risk of non-compliance and unauthorized access.
See, Asset Sourcing in Brand Portal.

The browser-based portal environment enables you to easily upload, browse, search, preview, and export assets in approved formats.

Configure Experience Manager Assets with Brand Portal

Configuring Adobe Experience Manager Assets with Brand Portal enables asset publishing, asset distribution, and asset contribution features for the Brand Portal users.

Configuring Experience Manager Assets with Brand Portal is supported on Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service, Experience Manager Assets 6.3 and above.

Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service is automatically configured with Brand Portal by activating Brand Portal from the Cloud Manager. The activation workflow creates the required configurations at the backend and activates Brand Portal on the same IMS org as of the Experience Manager Assets as a Cloud Service instance.

Whereas, Experience Manager Assets (on premise and managed service) is manually configured with Brand Portal using Adobe Developer Console, which procures an Adobe Identity Management Services (IMS) token for authorization of the Brand Portal tenant.

For more information, see configuring Experience Manager Assets with Brand Portal.

Alternate alias for Brand Portal url

Brand Portal 6.4.3 onwards, organizations can have one alternate (alias) URL for existing URL of their Brand Portal tenant. The alias URL can be created by having an alternate prefix in the URL.
Note that only the prefix of the Brand Portal URL can be customized and not the entire URL. For example, an organization with existing domain geomettrix.brand-portal.adobe.com can get geomettrixinc.brand-portal.adobe.com created on request.

However, AEM Author instance can be configured only with the tenant id URL and not with tenant alias (alternate) URL.

To get an alias for tenant name in existing portal URL, organizations need to contact Customer support with a new tenant alias creation request. This request is processed by first checking if the alias is available and then creating the alias.

To replace the old or delete the old alias, the same process needs to be followed.

OSGi Configuration With Secret Values and Environment-specific Values

In the Developer Console’s Configuration output Locate the pid representing the OSGi configuration to verify; this is the name of the OSGi configuration file in the AEM project’s source code.. Environment-specific configurations extend the traditional, statically defined OSGi configurations that contain inline values, providing the ability to manage the OSGi configuration values externally via the Cloud Manager API.. This is often the quickest way to create OSGi configurations for well-known OSGi components, and especially custom OSGi components that have been designed and developed by the same developer defining the configurations.. This is useful for configuring AEM-provided OSGi components whose OSGi properties and their value formats may not be well understood by the developer defining the OSGi configurations in the AEM project.. Log in to the AEM SDK Quickstart Jar’s AEM Web console as the admin user Navigate to OSGi > Configuration To configure, locate the OSGi component and tap its title to edit Edit the OSGi configuration property values via the Web UI as needed Record the Persistent Identity (PID) to safe place.. This is used later to generate the OSGi configuration JSON Tap Save Navigate to OSGi > OSGi Installer Configuration Printer Paste in the PID copied in Step 5, ensure Serialization Format is set to “OSGi Configurator JSON” Tap Print The OSGi Configuration in JSON format will display in the Serialized Configuration Properties section In your IDE, open the ui.apps project, locate or create the config folder ( /apps/.../config. ) which targets the runmodes the new OSGi configuration need to effect.

Assets APIs and developer reference content lets you manage assets, including binary files, metadata, renditions, comments, and Content Fragments.

The file size, in bytes, of the asset being uploaded.. Upload the first 8,000 bytes of the binary using the first upload URI.. Upload the second 8,000 bytes of the binary using the second upload URI.. Upload the last 4,000 bytes of the binary using the third upload URI.. After all the parts of a binary file are uploaded, submit an HTTP POST request to the complete URI provided by the initiation data.. Like the initiate process, the complete request data may contain information for more than one file.. If you upgrade from a previous version of Experience Manager, you can use asset microservices to process assets.

Creating and managing the pipelines for deploying the customer code and the related configuration to a specific environment.. Technical requirements for any existing content and/or code customized by the customer. Code updates; any customer applications developed for a previous version of AEM will need to be reviewed and possibly updated.. One of the major goals for AEM as a Cloud Service is to allow experienced customers (having used AEM either on-premise or in the context of the Adobe Managed Services) to migrate to AEM as a Cloud Service as quickly as possible, without having to rewrite the bulk of their customized code.. The application code and configuration must be compatible with the latest version of the baseline AEM image (which might be changing daily).. The customer application must be built and deployed using the Cloud Manager pipeline associated to the Cloud Manager environment.. The images built for the customer application must be deployed by the Cloud Manager pipeline.. Due to the clear separation of code and content, developers can use a particular process for updating content as part of a deployment.. In order to support rapid iterations and development, it is also possible to develop AEM applications outside the AEM as a Cloud Service context.. The user accounts enable your users to access Adobe products and services, as user-profile information is centralized in the Adobe Identity Management System (IMS) to be shared across all cloud services.. Using the Adobe Identity Management System (IMS) to provide single-sign-on across all Adobe cloud applications..
